About Us:

ElectraCentre Distribution Limited (ECD) is the central hub for the AWEBB Buying Group, servicing over 280 branches of independent electrical wholesalers across the UK. As we scale towards our 20M target, we're seeking a commercially astute Buyer to help drive profitability, streamline stock, and optimise supplier relationships.

Role Overview:

As our Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping ECD's commercial performance. You'll lead negotiations with suppliers, manage contractual agreements, deliver compelling promotions, and use market intelligence to secure the most competitive pricing. With a finger firmly on the pulse of the electrical wholesale industry, you'll ensure the right products are in stock, at the right price, and performing well.

Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate supplier terms, pricing, and rebate structures to maximise profit. Manage and monitor all commercial agreements, ensuring full compliance and profitability. Collaborate with the marketing team to roll out timely and effective group promotions. Identify and source fast-moving lines at market-leading prices. Analyse slow-moving stock and develop clearance strategies. Build strong relationships with AWEBB Members to align buying strategies with real-world needs. Use data and industry insight to inform and guide purchasing decisions. Support the growth of ECD's own brand where applicable.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience in a buying or procurement role (preferably within electrical wholesale or similar). Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
