Buyer

to join our dedicated team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented

Buyer

to join our procurement team within a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment. This role involves sourcing and purchasing goods and services essential to our operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality and timely delivery.

As we modernise our MRP systems, the successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting and contributing to this transition.

Responsibilities

Source, negotiate and manage supplier relationships to secure the best possible pricing, quality and delivery terms. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of materials. Monitor inventory levels and help maintain appropriate stock to support production schedules. Assist with the procurement of packing and shipping materials as needed. Support the development and optimisation of ERP/MRP systems and processes. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards. Provide cross-functional support to colleagues and contribute to broader team objectives when required.

Skills

Proven ability to manage a cost-effective, reliable, and quality-focused procurement function. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in supplier management. Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment. Proficient in spreadsheet use and data analysis to support decision-making. Experience in negotiating contracts or pricing agreements with vendors. Prior experience in engineering or manufacturing sectors is advantageous but not essential. Flexible, adaptable, and willing to support wider team needs where necessary.
