We're pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic and growing team at P Hughes Construction Ltd.

We're looking for a proactive individual who understands the value of smart procurement. As Buyer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our projects run smoothly and cost-effectively--working to the 5 R's of procurement:

The Right product, in the Right quantity, at the Right time, from the Right source, and at the Right price.

What You'll Be Doing:

Placing purchase orders for materials, plant, small tools, and welfare items with suppliers Reviewing spend profiles with suppliers Working closely with site teams, contract managers, and internal departments Maintaining and updating supplier pricing, while keeping the business informed of any changes Building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders Supporting tender submissions by sourcing pricing for potential new sites Resolving invoice queries and liaising with Finance on account issues Managing procurement records and documentation clearly on shared systems Raising and managing repair requests for fleet vehicles and plant equipment Liaising with the Commercial Department on tender pricing Expediting purchase orders and working to improve delivery dates Identifying and implementing improvements to the purchasing function

What We're Looking For:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Essential)

Strong verbal and written communication skills (Essential)

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with good problem-solving skills

Well-organised and able to manage time independently

Proactive mindset with a positive attitude and strong initiative

Buying experience and/or working towards a CIPS qualification (Desirable)

Product Knowledge with the Construction Sector (Desirable)
