We are now seeking an experienced and proactive

Buyer / Purchasing Executive

to manage and support procurement activities across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

Procure raw materials and finished goods

for food-grade packaging (Mariner Packaging), horticultural products, and pet care lines. Liaise with

international and domestic suppliers

, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage lead times and deliveries. Ensure all

purchasing is compliant with food-grade standards

and meets quality assurance requirements. Monitor stock levels and place purchase orders via

Sage

200

. Support the development and maintenance of supplier relationships, sourcing new suppliers where needed. Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely inbound delivery and optimal stock management. Prepare reports on procurement activity, cost savings, and supplier performance. Assist with procurement-related projects across the group.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in a

buying or procurement role

, ideally within packaging, food, horticulture, or related industries.

Strong understanding of supply chain principles

and international purchasing. Proficient in using

Sage

200

or a similar ERP system. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple suppliers and product lines efficiently. Highly organised, with strong attention to detail. Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
