Job Role



We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Procurement team at Impact Test Equipment. This role is ideal for someone early in their procurement career who can follow established processes, manage day-to-day purchasing activities, and support supply chain optimization projects. Full training will be provided, and the role offers exposure to international trade, working with multiple currencies, and cross-border suppliers.

Key Responsibilities



1. Purchasing and Supplier Management



Process purchase orders in line with company procedures. Maintain accurate records of supplier information, pricing, and lead times. Assist in managing relationships with both domestic and international suppliers. Monitor delivery schedules and proactively address any potential delays.

2. Process Compliance & Training



Adhere strictly to established procurement processes. Work closely with the wider team to ensure compliance with company standards and best practices. Undertake full training on all procurement systems and internal workflows.

3. Special Supply Chain Projects



Support investigations into new suppliers and alternative supply chains for stocked items. Conduct supplier research and compile comparison reports on cost, quality, and delivery performance. Assist with supplier qualification processes and help assess risks in the supply chain.

4. International Trade Support



Manage procurement activities across multiple currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, etc.). Support export and import documentation as needed. Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure timely shipments.

5. Administrative and Reporting Duties



Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP or procurement systems. Assist in preparing cost analysis and procurement performance reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Requirements



Essential



Strong organisational and administrative skills. Ability to follow structured processes and maintain attention to detail. Good communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal departments. Basic numeracy and analytical skills for cost comparisons and supplier evaluations. Willingness to learn international procurement practices.

Desirable



Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role. Familiarity with ERP or procurement software. Interest in supply chain optimisation and cost-saving initiatives.
