Job Description

Responsibilities:

This is a technical procurement role for a candidate with an engineering background either within a procurement or practical environment. The buyer will be part of a team primarily responsible for commodities such as milled and turned components made to TBS specifications, requiring an understanding of manufacturing/supplier capability to allow suitable supplier selection to meet business requirements from a cost, quality, and delivery perspective. The buyer is expected to perform all key tasks in the procurement process including the generation of suitable commodity strategies, selection and approval of suppliers, order placement, parts expediting and the resolution of any queries relating to purchase orders placed. The role will involve attendance and support to the Procurement Quality Assurance Specialist in the completion of supplier audits and implementation of supplier improvement plans. o Completion of daily procurement transactions such as order placement, expediting, quality issue resolution and clearance of payment queries. o Maintain MRP part and purchase order information. o Source parts from suitable suppliers to meet the commercial and technical needs of the business. o Develop and manage suppliers for assigned commodities to ensure key performance levels are achieved. o Support development of commodity strategies to ensure capacity, capability, quality, cost and supply chain risk are understood. o Support sourcing projects and implement activities identified to perform supplier approval activities as required. o Support supplier audits and implement supplier improvement plans. o Effectively communicate with other departments including production, design, stores and accounts. o To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements. o Develop effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholder, customers and suppliers to ensure best outcomes for TBS.. o Embrace the values of TBS Engineering & Berkshire Hathaway and live these by example, consistent with corporate policies/procedures and legal obligations, both in the UK and overseas. o Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to within operations area including Berkshire Hathaway's ethical policies. Person Specification o Ideally have a strong engineering background with the ability to read and interpret technical specifications to determine appropriate manufacturing methods of milled and turned components. o Analytical, detailed, and accurate individual with skill in work planning and problem-solving. o Aptitude and capability to conduct all aspects of supplier identification, qualification, and supply chain performance risk assessments. o Excellent communication skills with the procurement team, internal stakeholders and suppliers. o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. o Ability to plan and think strategically. o Self-motivated and team oriented. o Highest level of integrity and ethics o Planning and prioritizing activities o Goal oriented. o Excellent time management and organizational skills. o Equally effective working independently as with others through respect, diplomacy, andcooperation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
