We are seeking a commercially aware and highly organised
Buying Operations Manager
to lead the day-to-day execution of our buying function. This is a critical leadership role focused on managing people, optimising workflows, and using data to improve performance across the buying process.
You'll be responsible for ensuring seamless collaboration across supply chain, QC, compliance, and logistics, while also creating a high-performance environment within the buying team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in high-SKU retail environments, strong team management capabilities, and a data-first mindset.
Key Duties:
Lead, develop, and support the buying team -- providing structure, coaching, and clear KPIs
Support international launches and ongoing SKU onboarding activity across various platforms
Foster a data-driven culture, using performance metrics to inform decisions and actions
Oversee supplier performance, holding vendors accountable for On Time In Full and quality
Manage the product critical path and ensure cross-team accountability to deadlines
Partner closely with supply chain, compliance, QC, and logistics to align inbound, documentation, and launch timelines
Track and reduce refund rates through analysis and root cause identification
Monitor buying operations performance through advanced Excel tracking and reporting
Improve operational processes by identifying bottlenecks, reducing manual work, and increasing visibility
Support international launches and ongoing SKU onboarding activity across various platforms
Required Skills:
Proven experience in a buying operations or supply chain support role in an e-commerce or retail environment
Strongpeople management skills, with experience coaching and developing teams
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, trackers); Power BI or SQL is a plus
Deep understanding of buying processes, product life cycles, and vendor management
Track record of using data to improve team performance and drive outcomes
Comfortable managing 1,000+ SKUs and operating across multiple product categories
Excellent communicator and collaborator, particularly across supply chain, QC, and compliance functions
Preferred Experience:
Amazon, marketplace, or high-growth e-commerce background
Exposure to seasonal or fast-moving consumer goods
Experience improving fulfilment KPIs or reducing customer returns
Familiarity with international supplier management and compliance workflows
