As our newly appointed Cable Engineer you will be tasked with taking drawings and works orders from our Engineering Team as well as service and warranty requests and producing / testing high quality product assemblies. This will involve the use of both consumer off-the-shelf components as well as parts manufactured by our suppliers.

This important role will provide an opportunity to produce and work on a wide range of bespoke products and test equipment.

Role responsibilities:

Follow the correct manufacturing process and controls for production. Assembly of one-off electrical cabinets, control panels, cable harnesses and breakout boxes. Work from engineering drawings and feedback errors or improvement suggestions. Inspection of assembled items. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, equipment, and resources reporting any issues to Line Manager. Contribute to team effort, using skill sets and experience as required. You may be required to perform any other duties and to work in any other areas as requested by the Company, if necessary, which may include other offices and those of clients.

Who we're looking for?

Candidates must have a history of success in similar roles, be self-motivated and have a passion for quality engineering and assembly. Experience in working within an Industrial/Engineering environment. Ability to assemble and inspect product to a high standard. Ability to perform complex electrical operations involving wiring and soldering. To have an awareness / understanding of manufacturing processes. Test and automation background - Desirable. IPC620 & J-STD-001 trained - Desirable. Previous experience of the aerospace and defence industry - Desirable. Proven track record of bespoke test equipment - Desirable. Experience of Electrical Testing - Desirable. Experience of PCB Assembly - Desirable. Effective collaborator. Effective communicator across teams, departments and businesses. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities. The ability to work on own initiative when required and contribute as a team player. A basic level of PC skills mainly Excel and Outlook. Good communication skills. Able to work as part of a multi skilled production team. Sociable style with good drive and dedication. Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria.

In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect:
