We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Cable Jointer to join our expanding team. As the Cable Jointer, you will bring with you the skills and knowledge to deliver small to large-scale commercial HV projects, where you will perform the lead duties on HV cable jointing and terminations, cable installations, cable repairs and maintenance. As an important technical professional, you will be expected to follow established work safety practices and comply with legislative responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:
Lead the cable jointing and terminations, earthing, and cabling installations on HV networks.
Ensure all cabling works are installed in accordance with quality assurance, engineering design, time constraints, statutory requirements and relevant standards.
Use of cable avoidance equipment (CAT) Testing installations and recording results.
Mark up drawings showing joint positions, wiring design changes etc.
Mentoring and coaching less experienced staff in developing their knowledge and skills.
Carry out work in a safe manner, always adhering to health and safety procedures and act as a competent person to receive safety documentation.
Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations working to Method Statement, Risk Assessments and carrying out point of work risk assessments (POWRA).
Proactively look at ways to enhance the service offered by the business and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company processes.
Location and Commitments
Permanent full-time role UK-based (our office is based in Tamworth)
45 hours per week
Overtime and/or weekend work may be required.
Candidate Requirements
Formal trade qualification in HV/LV cable jointing (apprentice served) is a distinct advantage.
Certificate of Competency/Qualification for DNO's, IDNO's Electrician or Electrical Fitter
CSCS Qualification
Experience working on Commercial and Industrial installations
Perform installation and maintenance activities and associated tasks to a high standard in an environment where safe working practices are critical
Ability to interpret complex requirements, identify any risks, and communicate effectively
Effective decision-maker with the ability to work under pressure
Must hold a full UK driving licence

45,000k - 48,000 DOE plus overtime rates
