Cad Designer (solidworks)

Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced, technically minded CAD designer with significant Solidworks experience to work within our design team to produce designs for the purpose of both manufacturing and sales. The role will also require the chosen candidate to work on the development of our Driveworks/Solidworks based CAD design system. Please note this role is office based.

The Role:



You will be asked to produce works cards for the manufacture of custom cases, inserts and bags. Liaise with the sales team to assist with the initial specification and design process. Liaise with the manufacturing team to assist with the manufacturing process. Ensure approval drawings are issued to meet client expectations and delivery dates Ensure production drawings are issued in accordance with meeting client expectations Accurate completion of drawings to ensure NCR's are kept to a minimum Control and organise multiple projects with a pro-active client focus Maintenance of all information/records to ensure successful project completion Undertake Rota-Moulding Project under the supervision of the managers and directors

Experience / Skill Required:



You must possess excellent communication and influencing skills with a good command of the English Language. You must be enthusiastic and possess a thorough work ethic, being a team player whilst also being able to work independently. You will need to be able to learn the features and functionality of appropriate business systems and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy in a busy and demanding environment.

Excellent Solidworks Experience Great project management skills Drive to push through change and challenge the status quo Experience of working on design within a manufacturing business Understanding of sales and production processes Understanding of Alphacam and other CAD systems would be an advantage Strong eye for precision and detail Have a good work ethic and extremely hard working Experienced in 2D and 3D Modelling Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong sense of urgency and responsibility Must be a team player and demonstrate successful experience working within a busy environment Ability to work independently and achieve goals and meet timelines A strong desire to learn Customer orientated Excellent communication skills Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) Understanding of Rota- Moulding Design & Techniques
