WHAT TO EXPECT

Responsible for the delivery of Mechanical and Virtual integration of Electrical modules in their strategic locations ensuring optimised Harness routing and Vehicle attributes are met. This entails interacting and collaborating with cross-functional and departmental teams (Body eng, Chassis etc), Manufacturing, Vehicle engineering, Program and Design. Represent Digital Product Platform (DPP) Department as a Packaging interface to the rest of the business, responsible for packaging up to 200+ components on a typical program.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create compatible package solutions for Electrical components and possible concept harness runs in almost every zone of the vehicle.
• Create compatible package solutions for approximately 200+ Electrical components around the vehicle to meet all electrical requirements to compliment optimum harness routing.
• \'Design in context\' work ethic to ensure geometry compatibility with cross functional teams including Body, Trim, Powertrain, Chassis, Harness, Manufacturing, Service & Design.
• Secure packaging sign-off of installations from all stakeholders
• Coordinate, present and report package feasibility and status at Senior reviews
• Ensure all Electrical component packaging solutions meet the component functional requirements & keep out zones ensuring compliancy to Grid in the process.
• Highlight and provide Package resolutions of Geometrical incompatibilities involving Electrical components to Program & Vehicle engineering teams. Responsible for the escalation process as a result.
• Scoring and status metric of CAD data progression using VEPS tool against virtual gateways
• Escalation of any delivery shortfalls including programme gateway risks and programme assumption changes to Core teams.
• Responsible for creating strategic module locations (JLR Grid) that delivers optimised Harness package.
• Support and resolve any Electrical package issues arising from virtual and physical prototype build events.
• Support Virtual Series countdown events, manufacturing virtual builds, Program Go/No Go events, must resolves forums.
• Responsible to deliver a complete and geometrically compatible Electrical package by gateway.
• Contribution to Bill Of Design (BoD) for components and Harnesses

WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

• Extensive user of Catia V5 and V6
• 3D Experience (Enovia) and TeamCentre (Tce)
• Harness/Wiring design knowledge
• Ability to negotiate package solutions in areas of technical conflict
• Project Management experience
• Harness Design experience using Electrical Work Bench
• BoD (Bill of Design) and Bill Of Process (BoP) knowledge
• AVA (Parametric modelling) awareness
• BOM awareness
