Cartwright Vehicle Conversion, part of the prestigious Trek-Group, are looking to recruit a
CAD Engineer
to be based at their Belton site, near Doncaster.
This role offers a great opportunity to support the design engineering tasks across multiple emergency and specialist vehicle conversion projects, from concept phase through to physical delivery of a product which meets safety, quality, cost, and lead time requirements.
This is a very hands-on position, demanding high levels of creativity and flexibility and it comes with excellent prospects to progress within the group.
You will be:
Qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacture Engineering or Product Design.
Experience within automotive engineering desirable.
Able to evidence how you have applied your technical knowledge to solve problems, either through relevant experience, through your university projects or as part of your extra-curricular activities.
Have the ability to demonstrate an understanding of general engineering principles.
Be assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcome change.
Have a creative, logical approach for generating new ideas and solutions.
Have knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software, technical drawings and 3D modelling, within SolidWorks.
Understand Sales Specifications.
You will be expected to:
Produce both high level and detailed vehicle designs, based on customer, company and regulatory requirements, using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software.
Analyse the design proposals and the technical information in order to identify the issues arising during product development, defining and implementing adequate solutions in order to reach a feasible proposal with a high form and aesthetic quality.
Provide support across the Group and ensure that all aspects of CAD design are created to fully meet the high specifications set for each conversion.
Transform concepts into prototypes for testing, validating and improvement, ultimately for volume production.
Ensure the success of the design from inception through to delivery into manufacture, using innovative engineering skills to ensure seamless integration.
Software for the customer and provide support and feedback on design.
Actively contribute to Design Reviews and Build Readiness Reviews.
Proven ability to self-manage and deliver on time
Reliable and flexible in their approach.
The working hours are between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am and 2:30pm on Friday with 30 minutes for lunch.
