About Us:

Based in Wales, specialising in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead powerline infrastructure across the UK. We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician, ideally with a background in the Overhead Line (OHL) transmission and distribution sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical drawings for civil and geotechnical designs, particularly foundation structures for high-voltage transmission towers. This position supports engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with British, Eurocode and Client standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed CAD drawings for both new build and refurbishment OHL projects, including:

General Arrangement (GA) and detailed drawings for reinforced concrete pad/column foundations, monopile foundations, raft foundations, steel tube, rock anchor, and ground beam foundations.
Develop GA drawings for temporary civil works such as:

Access tracks, culverts, pile mats, crane pads, retaining walls, and buried services protection. Generate bar bending schedules in accordance with BS 8666. Conduct internal reviews of design drawings and schedules to ensure accuracy, compliance with CAD standards. Prepare Piece Small Details (PSD), OHL clearance check drawings, and 'As Built' documentation. Provide technical drawing support to project engineers and site teams. Assist in tender submissions by preparing design drawings and quantity estimates. Maintain drawing records and documentation in line with client specifications and project requirements. Collaborate effectively with internal design teams and external stakeholders. Engage in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Requirements:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3d, Tekla Structures and Microsoft Office.
Strong working knowledge of:

BS 8666 - Scheduling, dimensioning, bending and cutting of steel reinforcement for concrete -- Specification Demonstrated experience in civil and geotechnical design. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.

Educational Qualification:

Completed HND (or equivalent)
