Role summary



As an exclusive luxury brand, our bespoke projects are high value and strategically complex, spanning the luxury residential, prestigious hospitality and flagship commercial sectors. The design team works within the wider projects team, developing conceptual design drawings into detailed construction drawings. The quality of draughtsmanship must be to the highest standards to reflect the complex bespoke furniture and joinery designs.

In this fast-paced environment, clear written and verbal communication is essential. Meeting our clients' exacting standards and challenging deadlines requires excellent time management skills together with an ability to contribute to the collective capabilities of the design team through a collaborative work ethic.

Key responsibilities



Develop conceptual design drawings into detailed construction drawings using predominantly 2D AutoCAD with some draughting and modelling in 3D SolidWorks and SketchUp.

Work closely with sales, technical and production teams to develop design specifications.

Manage the drawing process working to predetermined milestones to meet production programmes.

Liaise with clients to develop design requirements.

Liaise with suppliers to research specified materials and products.

Ensure drawings adhere to company quality standards and carry out quality checks in preparation for management sign-off.

Prepare technical schedules and maintain accurate data records in accordance with the drawing management process.

Attend site surveys to gather project data.

Participate in regular in-house cross-functional projects meetings.

Identify opportunities to improve process and contribute to the design team's programme of continuous development.

Technical skills



Strong 2D AutoCAD skills; SolidWorks, SketchUp or other 3D draughting/modelling experience advantageous.

Experience of furniture and specialist joinery construction methods.

Working knowledge of materials relevant to the furniture and joinery industry such as: timber, sheet material, hardware, glass, stone, metal.

Qualifications and experience



A minimum of 2 years' experience within the furniture, product design or other related sector.

Degree level or equivalent industry qualification in furniture, product design or other related subject.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
