Summary



We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to help manage, maintain and operate a Computer Aided Design and ArchiCAD system covering the whole of the Trust's properties and associated services.

Update the Trust's records by collating, editing and curating the existing record information into a single CAD 'model' for each building. Surveying rooms and larger areas or whole buildings to validate the documented information and for updating Space Plans. Ensuring that the Estates mechanical and electrical services drawings are maintained and updated when both minor and major projects have been carried out (Focus on updating information from surveys and testing) Produce feasibility drawings for new works including associated information i.e. detail, schedule etc.as designed by others. Prepare site plans as required by the Trust solicitors for HM Land Registry. Provide assistance with the Estates and Trust ERIC returns, space utilisation and services information:

Maintain and update the Estates Space Utilisation software package MICAD to ensure accurate information is available regarding room occupancy, building occupancy and other estates related issues.



Maintain and update the Estates electronic filing system for data (Alchemy or alternative storage and retrieval system).



Assist in the collection, collation and submission of data for Estates and Facilities Information Returns (ERIC).



Assist with space plans and floor area calculations for rating purposes



Develop the Building Information Modelling (BIM) system and associated asset data.

Responsibilities



Produce and manage the drawn and BIM data that is essential for the proper functioning of the Projects, Estates and Compliance teams. In addition, the post-holder will have a key role in bringing the historic and back-log information into the Trust's current systems. Effective communication and working relationships with Trust and external organisations, (oral, written, electronic), many being of a technical and complicated nature, where there may be some barriers to understanding. Analysing information prepared by Trust staff and external designers, contractors and installers to establish correct technical details for incorporation into the Trust records. Review CAD drawings to check, re-classify and validate data to ensure information is correctly layered and ordered (failure resulting in important information not being visible to the maintenance and other teams when the CAD drawings are published and viewed) Analyse complex and detailed documents such as xml data-sets generated as part of the BIM process to validate data is correctly classified and recorded. Assist with problem solving and improving efficiency of the CAD software set-up. Undertake duties to with regard to priorities and programme set by their Line Manager. Implementing these duties will involve coordination with department management and specialist service providers.

Qualifications



Proficiency in produce, develop and create of technical reports and drawings using AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and MICAD is essential.



Strong understanding of CAD principles and practices relevant to construction and healthcare environments. Experience with SketchUp, NavisWorks, MicroStation, or SolidWorks is preferred. Ability to interpret architectural plans and engineering specifications. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Relevant qualifications or certifications in CAD or related fields are advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: 15.43 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
