Purpose of the role

To assist the Senior CAD Engineer in the delivery of Shipping Container modification and conversion container projects. To assist the Modular Design Manager with the design of Modular/AV projects. To effectively assist with the design process including generating drawings, quotations and specifying the required materials.

Design

Container Conversions

Design and develop detailed drawings for bespoke and general containers projects for customers and for the Depot team to follow, using CAD software. Check drawings for feasibility, performance costs, quality, accuracy, safety, and timing. Minimise material wastage by ensuring that drawings and estimates have relevant and accurate Bill of Materials.

Modular/AV

Assist the Modular Design Manager with production of accurate drawings of Modular installations. Be the main point of contact for the Hire Desk with AV drawing requests.

BOX+

Be the main point of contact for the Sales team with BOX+ site drawing requests.

Xtras

Maintain 'Xtras' standardised drawings, updating, expanding and revising as appropriate.

Document Control

Maintain accurate records of project documents and the correspondence/sharing of documents relevant to bespoke projects. Expand and maintain 'Construction' and 'Xtras' document library. Collate and issue appropriate certification, documentation and other relevant information to create and issue O&M Manuals to clients. Work with the Design & Estimates Manager and the Modular Design Manager to ensure cohesive document control methods.

Estimating

Generate estimates for container projects to inform quotations for the Sales team, ensuring that material and labour estimates are accurate. Ensure that estimate templates are kept up to date with current material costs and manufacturing methods, working closely with commercial where appropriate. Maintain the standardised 'Xtras' pricing alongside the drawings.

Key Skills

To provide accurate CAD drawings to meet customer requirements. To review and assess a project specification to determine a project's timelines, labour resources and materials.
