TechSoft is a leading supplier of software, machinery, tooling, and materials to educational establishments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a CAD/CAM Sales and Support Advisor to join our office-based sales and support team.
This role combines technical sales support, customer assistance, and hands-on involvement with CAD software and machinery, primarily via telephone and email.
You will work as part of a small, successful team, supporting customers, assisting with sales activities, and testing equipment. The role offers significant scope for learning and future career development.
This position would suit: Product Design, Engineering, or IT graduates; Design & Technology teachers or technicians; Candidates with a strong technical or practical background and an interest in CAD/CAM systems
Prior experience is useful but not essential, as training will be provided.

Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD/CAM Sales and Support Advisor to join our office-based team, offering excellent scope for personal and career development.
The successful candidate will need to live in or re-locate to a suitable location within a reasonable distance to our office in Bodelwyddan, North Wales.
The successful candidate will join a small but successful team and must be prepared to be a team player, assisting in various areas as needed. The specific job duties may vary based on the strengths and experience of the candidate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Customer Support:
Respond to incoming sales and support inquiries via telephone and email, including troubleshooting issues with machines such as laser cutters and 3D printers.
2. Technical Support:
Assist customers with CAD software queries, particularly for software like SolidWorks and TechSoft Design V3 (formerly 2D Design V2).
3. Machinery Service & Testing:
Service and repair small machines, such as knife cutters, 3D printers, and embroidery equipment (training will be provided).
4. Product Demonstration:
Test new machinery, including 3D printers and laser cutters, by designing and creating sample products using CAD software like SolidWorks and TechSoft Design V3 (training available if needed).
5. Creating Resources:
Produce videos and resources demonstrating the capabilities of various machines and software.
6. Operational Support:
Collaborate with office and warehouse staff to prepare for sales events and equipment installations.
7. Order Processing:
Process customer orders and complete necessary online paperwork to facilitate order fulfilment.
Preferred Skills / Experience
The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate:
Enthusiasm, a good telephone manner, excellent verbal and written communication skills, patience, and strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.
A high degree of initiative, flexibility, and energy.
Familiarity with TechSoft products is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, and basic knowledge of CNC machinery would be beneficial, though training is available for those who need it.
A keen interest in working with machinery and a good mechanical aptitude are highly desirable.
A willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential.
Education
The ideal candidate would have a Product Design / Engineering degree (or similar working background, e.g., Design Technology Teacher/Technician).
GCSE (or equivalent): Maths and English at
Grade B/6
or above (or equivalent).
A-Level (or equivalent): Product Design or similar would be beneficial.
Terms and Conditions
1. Hours:
Office hours are 37.5 hours per week. 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with a half hour lunch.
2. Salary:
25,500 - 28,000 per year, based on experience.
3. Start Date:
As soon as possible
4. Holidays:
25 days per year, plus Bank Holidays. Please note that all holidays must be taken during normal school holiday periods. In addition, 3 of the days are fixed for our Christmas closedown, 5 of the days are fixed for our Summer closedown, and at least 5 other days must be taken during the normal school summer holiday period.
5. Team Collaboration:
The successful candidate must be a team player and will be involved in various aspects of TechSoft's operations as needed.
6. Location:
This is an office-based role, and relocation may be required if necessary.
