In this role the CAD/CAM Technician will report directly to the CAD/CAM Coordinator supporting the production department within Fabrication by producing CAD drawings and programmes using a variety of software packages to produce high-quality engineered sheet metal products for the construction industry.
Duties:
Produce CAD drawings and programs for production with the use of SolidWorks and Amada programming software.
Liaise with machine operators and team leaders when required to find manufacturing solutions.
Interpret technical drawings and hand sketches to produce production drawings suitable for manufacture.
Release accurate information to production including material usage and process estimation for scheduling.
Troubleshoot programming and machine related issues to maintain quality and minimise production downtime.
Optimize material layouts to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.

Qualifications/Training:
Knowledge and understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
Proven experience in CNC programming for Laser's and turret punch presses, preferably Amada.
Proficient in CAD/CAM software, preferably Solidworks, BricsCAD, BlankCAM or equivalent.
Competent in Microsoft programmes, Excel and Word in specific.
Strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate problem solving.
Able to read and interpret technical drawings for manufacturing feasibility.
