Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers enjoy their experience while adhering to food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverage items, including coffee, tea, pastries, breakfast and light meals. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the cafe. Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have. Operate coffee machines and other equipment efficiently, ensuring high-quality beverages are served. Manage inventory levels by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management. Maintain a tidy workspace, including cleaning tables, counters, and equipment throughout the shift. Handle cash transactions accurately using basic math skills to process payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous barista experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Strong understanding of food safety practices to ensure the highest standards are met. Experience in food preparation and serving is essential. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic mathematical skills for handling cash transactions accurately. A friendly attitude with strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and colleagues. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-15.03 per hour
