Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position requires strong time management skills and a commitment to food safety standards.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of food items, ensuring quality and presentation meet cafe standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces, kitchen, and storage areas. Serve customers efficiently, taking orders accurately and providing helpful recommendations when needed. Handle cash transactions and assist with basic maths for order totals. Ensure adherence to food safety regulations at all times, including proper storage and handling of food items. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive working environment and seamless service delivery. Help manage inventory by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management.

Experience

Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment is essential. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous. Strong time management abilities to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Basic math skills for handling transactions and order calculations. A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene practices. Must be Level 2 food and Hygiene or above.
