Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This position requires excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Assist customers with their orders, providing exceptional service and recommendations as needed. Operate coffee machines and other equipment, demonstrating barista skills when required. Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic math skills for processing payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Manage inventory levels, reporting any shortages or issues to the supervisor.

Experience

Previous experience in a cafe or similar environment is preferred but not essential; barista experience is a plus. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a busy setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with customers and colleagues. A passion for food and customer service is essential for success in this role. Pay: 10.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 03 - 30 per week
