Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team at Compass Cafe at Tiso Outdoor Experience at Inveralmond Industrial Estate. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised cafe environment. You should be of a cheerful nature, enjoy interacting with customers and be committed to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately. Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to our culinary standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations. Upsell menu items effectively to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Help manage inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary supplies are stocked and readily available. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods, demonstrating excellent time management skills. Perform basic maths calculations for order processing and cash handling as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe setting is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Basic culinary skills and experience in food preparation are advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic workplace setting.

Hours :

30 hours worked on a 5 out of 7 rota including weekends. More hours may be available to cover holidays. This is a day shift role only, no split shifts or evenings.

Pay

: At least National Minimum Wage applies. If you are between 18 and 21 pay is 10 per hour. If you are over 21, then the pay rate is 12.25 per hour.
