This is a rewarding daytime role in a well-established garden centre restaurant, ideal for someone who enjoys cooking good, honest food in a welcoming and customer-focused environment.

Hours & Benefits

35 hours per week Includes weekend working Daytime hours only Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of garden centre restaurant favourites, including carvery items, light meals, hot specials, breakfasts, lunches and baked goods, all to a consistently high standard.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Preparing, cooking and presenting food to garden centre restaurant standards Supporting the daily running of the kitchen and service periods Preparing carvery joints, vegetables, sauces and accompaniments Following recipes, portion control and presentation guidelines Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness Ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety and allergen regulations Carrying out food preparation, stock rotation and date labelling Monitoring food quality and freshness throughout service Assisting with stock control, deliveries and storage Working collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen colleagues Keeping the kitchen organised, clean and efficient at all times Contributing to a positive, supportive and professional team environment

About You

Experience as a cook or chef in a cafe, restaurant or similar setting A passion for producing good quality, well-presented food Reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure A team player with a positive, can-do attitude A commitment to cleanliness, consistency and customer satisfaction
