Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe annd Deli Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting with food preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. This position requires strong time management skills, a passion for culinary arts, and the ability to upsell menu items effectively.

Working within the cheese deli regularly you will have a passion from growing your knowledge, have some experience in a similar deli environment and be able to use the website for online orders effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist in deli preparation, this will include Plougmans lunches, grazing boxes, Hampers and more. ensuringl Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the Deli and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations. Serve customers with a friendly attitude, providing excellent customer service at all times. Help manage inventory by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages. Perform basic maths calculations for order processing and cash handling. Upsell Deli and Cafe menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Collaborate with Cafe and Deli staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Assist in ordering cheese, sausage rolls, quiches etc for the deli

Qualifications

Previous experience in a deli or cafe environment is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory management. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills in food preparation. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with customers. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.55 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
