We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food and hospitality industry, with a passion for delivering exceptional service. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and service run smoothly while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the deli and dining areas.
Ensure efficient food preparation and production processes are followed.
Lead and supervise a team of staff, fostering a positive work environment.
Train new employees on food safety protocols, cafe and deli procedures and techniques, and customer service standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli and dining areas.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
Implement health and safety regulations to ensure compliance with local laws.
Be confident to cover the kitchen if and when required
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
Excellent leadership abilities to motivate staff and enhance performance.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production.
Previous barista experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with serving techniques and customer service excellence.
Experience in deli duties is an advantage but not essential.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers. Must be Flexible for shifts and be able to work 4 weekend shifts a month as minimum. able to cover holidays and sickness at short notice
Hours a min of 25 but will be around 30 each week and then more for Cover and Christmas
