We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our cafe. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in food safety practices.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Serve customers with a friendly and attentive approach, providing information about menu items and daily specials. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment. Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and service as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently when required. Assist in training new staff members in cafe procedures and best practices.
Experience

Previous experience in a cafe or restaurant environment is preferred, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience as a barista is advantageous, along with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques. Familiarity with catering services is beneficial but not essential. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices is required. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential for success in this role. Shifts are between the hours of 06:00 to 21:30 (8 hour shifts) and must be flexible across 7 day week.

Excellent rates of pay and benefits.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
