Job Description

We are recruiting for an energetic Cafe Assistant to join our friendly Front of House team in our constantly evolving food and retail business.

Our busy Cafe, located at the heart of the Garden Centre, seats a maximum of 200 hungry diners, all of whom will require a courteous, friendly, and efficient service from our Cafe Assistants.

Please note this role will require the ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Key responsibilities:

Preparing all the hot drinks Providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering any questions about the menu or cafe policies. Serving beverages and brunch style food. Handling cash transactions, processing payments, and providing accurate change to customers. Operating cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems. Keeping the cafe clean and organised, including wiping down tables, counters, and equipment, as well as sweeping and mopping floors. Ensuring that condiment stations and dining areas are well-stocked and tidy.

Hours of Work

Saturday 1000 - 1700 All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break Closed Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 27th December and New Year's Day

Pay rates:

Our pay rates vary depending on age:

Ages 16-17:

7.88 per hour

Ages 18-20:

10.10 per hour

Ages 21 and over:

12.35 per hour
