Overview:

Honesty Group is an independent food business operating across West Berkshire and North Hampshire. We run Food & Coffee Houses, a cookery school, a wholesale bakery, and two pubs. We are committed to fresh ingredients, genuine hospitality, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.


We're seeking a

Cafe Assistant

to help deliver excellent customer service and support daily operations at our Wokingham location. This role balances front-of-house duties with light food handling, ensuring every guest enjoys their experience.

Main Purpose of Role:

To serve customers with warmth and efficiency, prepare basic food and drink offerings, and keep the shop clean and welcoming throughout the day.

Hours and Shifts availble for this location:

These roles are permanent and are NOT seasonal



18.5 hours per week, -

Sunday to Thursday

7.5 hours per week -

Saturdays

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet guests, take orders, operate the till, and handle payments accurately.

Prepare & Serve Food & Drink:

Make and serve hot drinks to standard, heat toasties, soups, smoothies, and other menu items using provided equipment.

Cleanliness & Presentation:

Keep front-of-house, tables, and counters clean and tidy; maintain friendly presentation and hygiene standards.

Basic Prep & Support:

Assist with simple preparation and display of baked goods, refill stock, rotate items, and ensure the freshness of displayed products.

Shop Setup & Close:

Help open and close the Food & Coffee House, including tidying up, restocking, waste logging, and assisting with cleaning tasks like sweeping or wiping surfaces.

Collaborate:

Work with Team Leaders and Supervisors to support the smooth flow of service and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For:

Friendly, helpful attitude and strong communication skills Ability to multitask in a busy environment Some familiarity with food prep or hospitality is helpful but not essential--training will be provided Awareness of food safety and hygiene practices Flexible availability including weekends and bank holidays Reliable travel to Wokingham location
