The Role
As Cafe Chef you will be a part of delivering the best class fine dining experience to all visitors and clients for our Restaurant, Cafe, Boardrooms, Auditorium, and Events. You will be responsible of ensuring that all kitchen departments are run as smoothly as possible. As a senior member of the team, you will supervise kitchen staff, organise food orders, oversee food preparation, cooking and examining food plating and temperatures.
Duties include:
Deliver friendly, efficient customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests, anticipating their needs, to leave them with a positive experience.
Ensure all food items and products are stored, prepared and served, based on the recipes, preparations and portion standards.
Working closely with our Head Chef and Operations Manager with creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality.
Manage the pantry, inventory, and control how food is stored and prepared.
Support and guide kitchen and barista staff to deliver quality, timely food and ensure that all customers are satisfied.
Order kitchen materials and ingredients, based on the menu and market demand.
Maintain clean working environments and ensure that staff follow the appropriate measures during and after service.
Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels.
Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.
You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
Assist other departments with ad-hoc duties, as and when required.
Assist with appraisal and probation reviews, setting KPI's and targets for staff. Encourage, praise and recognise exceptional work from members of staff.
Working closely with the Head Chef, to update and maintain the rota on a weekly/monthly basis.
General:
Dress code is professional attire and will be required to be worn at all times. Uniform will be provided.
Key Skills
At least 1-2 years' experience as a Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role
Organised, efficient and have the ability to work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Building relationships at all levels
Great time management skills
Proactive, driven and great attention to detail
