We are a small, family-run restaurant preparing to launch an exciting new food concept that blends homely comfort with bold African and Caribbean-inspired flavours. We're looking for a passionate and driven Head Chef (or an ambitious Sous Chef ready to step up) to lead our kitchen as we grow. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand on and improve existing menu ideas while helping shape the food direction of the business.
As this is a one-person kitchen to start, you'll be hands-on with every aspect of the kitchen operation -- from prep and service to stock control and organisation. The initial offering will focus on sandwiches and light bites, with plans to expand into a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu as the restaurant develops.
A kitchen assistant/porter will join the team once the restaurant is fully up and running.

Ensure all food production meets the required quality and presentation standards
Serve dishes to guests when necessary, maintaining excellent customer service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Skills
Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant setting
Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Skilled in food preparation, plating, and presentation techniques
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Exceptional communication skills to effectively lead a diverse team
Experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is preferred but not essential for entry-level roles
