Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Cook to join our kitchen team.

We are a busy cafe in the heart of Withington, M20 focusing on breakfast and grilled sandwiches / lunch. We are extending our opening times until 9pm where we will be serving a range of Mezze Grills, Gourmet Burgers, Grilled Salads, Toasted Sandwiches, and loaded Fries.

We are looking to for another full time grill chef to join our team and help take ownership and get this evening offer off the ground.

To start with hours will be focused on the evening side, then when things settled down shifts will be shared between our other two full time chefs covering breakfast and lunch.

Opening times 09.00 - 21.30

Breakfast served 09.00 - 15.00 Everyday

Lunch Served 11.00 - 17.00 (Monday to Friday Only)

Grill Menu 15.00 - 21.00 Everyday

Hourly rate is 14.50 per hour

35-45 Hours per week

5 days over 7

28 days holiday

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of grilled foods, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and kitchen area. Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Assist in training new kitchen staff on grilling techniques and kitchen procedures.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation and cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. Previous experience as a Grill Cook or similar role is advantageous but not essential.
