Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join the team at our Cafe, The Beetroot Tree at the beautiful Mercia Marina in Willington, Derbyshire. DE65 6DW.

The Cafe is open between 09.30am and 4.30pm, 7 days a week. The role will be a combination of Cook and Front of House but, mainly cook. We are looking for someone to work Thursday and Friday, with occasional weekend holiday cover.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in a Cafe Kitchen or Restaurant, but we can offer on the job training for this role.

Our Cooks are responsible for the preparation and cooking of menu items to order.

This involves:

Preparation of salads, soups and vegetables etc. prior to service.

Assembling dishes as ordered by customers and to the specification of the menu.

Ensuring Hygiene and Food Safety requirements are adhered to.

Keeping records such as recipe ingredients, temperature logs for cooking and refrigeration.

Planning new menu items, including costing and allergen information.

Ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and stock is rotated efficiently.

Following deep clean and end of day clean down procedure.

Adhering to Health and Safety procedures to ensure their safety and that of others.
