We are seeking a talented and passionate cook to join our family-run Cafe in Tetbury.
This role is best suited to an experienced cook looking for flexible working hours and a healthy work/life balance.
Having recently opened our third site (The Gilbertine Deli, Cirencester) we are looking for a creative, passionate individual to join Tetbury and assist the Head chef with the running of the kitchen, as well as supporting preparations for the Deli and our Mexican themed evenings at Tetbury (a Spin-off from our restaurant, Burrito Mama, in Cirencester).
The ideal candidate will have experience with a cafe kitchen and an understanding of kitchen operations. As a cook, you will be responsible for food preparation during a shift, ensuring high-quality standards, and delivering excellence in a timely manner. This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be pro-active during quieter periods. Our cook needs to be able to work effectively alone, as well as part of a team. This is a PART-TIME role.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfasts, brunch and lunch items.
Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring quality and consistency in every task.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
Work alone effectively and maintain the high standards in the absence of The Head Chef.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary environment.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen.
Basic culinary skills and knowledge.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation.
Excellent stress management skills.
Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and a creative mindset in desirable.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
