Overview

We are seeking a highly organised individual to join our cafe team. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills to oversee the effective operation of the cafe. This role combines management, organisation and hands on support.

We are looking for someone to work 10 hours between Thursday- Monday. Hours are flexible but a reasonable amount of time to be spent in the cafe on Thursdays, either Friday or Saturdays and Mondays.

Duties

- First point of contact for employees, volunteers, and members of the public -

raise any issues with Directors or Steering Committee.

- Resolution of issues quickly and effectively

- Monitor and respond to cafe emails

- Organise and manage cafe rota

- Assisting with Good Companions lunch on Mondays

- Manage dresser stocks and cafe art sales

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards

- Ensure food temperature records are completed each week

- Deal with maintenance issues with cafe equipment

- Advertise for new employees and train them on cafe procedures and customer

service standards

- Attend Steering Committee meeting once a month

- Manage cafe diary and bookings

- Deal with ad hoc issues

- Support budget management and cost control initiatives

- Community engagement- Organise cafe events and seasonal activities, build

relationships with local suppliers and community partners and promote the cafe

through social media and marketing efforts

Experience

Strong organisational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices Proficiency in scheduling, POS systems, and basic financial reporting
