We are looking for a hospitality professional to manage our cafe during the week. The ideal candidate should have solid experience across a range of hospitality settings, a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service, and importantly, the ability to build rapport with customers, helping to establish regular customers who feel at home in the cafe.
Barista experience is essential as is the ability to manage and organise daily cafe operations. The candidate will be responsible for opening and closing down and for managing other team members. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, likes to work with people and who can also bring new ideas and creative thoughts to the cafe. Whether that be new drink/food offerings, or events, promotions.
The hours are Monday to Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm
(Occasional weekend work might be required for cover).
Duties
Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
Supervise other front of house team members
Open and close cafe following all procedures
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the premises
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control inventory to minimise waste
Implement training programmes for staff to enhance skills and service quality
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to guarantee satisfaction
Maintaining standards throughout the cafe and of other staff members
Organise staff rotas and optimise shift coverage to meet business demands
Promote a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat patronage
Requirements
Proven experience in supervising or managing within a restaurant, hospitality, or cafe environment
Dependable and reliable with sounds morals, values and ethics
Hard working, goal oriented and driven
Autonomously completes tasks and takes initiative
proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive attitude
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
Demonstrable management qualities with the capacity to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
Knowledge of hospitality industry best practices including serving standards and customer service excellence
Familiarity with barista experience and beverage preparation
Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
A recognised qualification in hospitality is preferred but not essential
