About us

The Downs Cafe is situated in the heart of The Bristol Downs - a beautiful 412 acre public parkland. The area is used for numerous leisure and sporting activities and is the venue for many large events throughout the year.

We occupy a unique Victorian building which has been completely refurbished over the last few years. We are fully licensed and have a fantastic food offering in place.

About the role

We are now looking for an experienced manager to work alongside the owners to oversee the busy cafe/restaurant

The successful candidate will be given lots of responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the business. Duties will include stock control, Health & Safety, Social Media, recruitment, staff training and rota's.

You will instigate & maintain high standards, high morale and team spirit. Effectively manage staffing levels, ensuring costs are controlled and productivity levels are optimised, in line with budget requirements.

The working week will consist of a mixture of daytime shifts including weekends of between 35 & 40 hours.

No two days are ever the same.

Previous experience making coffee is essential.

About you

You will be passionate about hospitality, experienced in management, a problem solver, a team player and have great communication skills. You will always aim to provide excellent customer service and to be a role model for your fellow employees.
