Cafe Manager - Frequency Coffee, Stevenage Town Square

We're Frequency Coffee, an independent specialty coffee company with six locations across London. This year, we're excited to open our brand-new cafe and roastery in the heart of Stevenage Town Square and we're looking for an experienced and motivated Cafe Manager to lead this new team.

At Frequency, we're passionate about exceptional coffee, fresh food, and creating welcoming spaces for our guests. As we continue to grow, opening new sites, expanding our online/offline presence, and developing our in-house offering, this is a chance to be part of shaping something special from the ground up.

What You'll Be Doing

As Cafe Manager, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day running of our new site, ensuring high standards of service, coffee, and food. You'll be a hands-on leader who sets the tone for excellence and professionalism, while fostering a positive and supportive team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and motivating the team to deliver outstanding customer service. Managing daily operations, staff rotas, and delegating tasks effectively. Recruiting, onboarding, and training new staff. Overseeing coffee and food preparation to maintain Frequency's quality standards. Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally. Managing stock, ordering, and weekly stocktakes. Driving sales growth through upselling, waste management, and operational efficiency. Reporting on shop performance to the Area Manager and Directors.

The ideal candidate will:

Have proven experience managing a cafe, coffee shop, or hospitality venue. Be an inspiring and hands-on leader who enjoys developing and coaching teams. Be organised, reliable, and confident in managing operations, stock, and budgets. Have a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Be flexible and proactive, with the ability to adapt in a growing business.
