Strathcarron Hospice is opening a new cafe at the Bellfield Centre in Stirling and we are now recruiting! The cafe will initially be open every Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm with the intention of expanding our operating hours and days.

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and experienced

Cafe Supervisor

What You'll Do:

Supervise daily cafe operations and ensure smooth service

Lead and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver excellent hospitality

Handle customer queries and resolve issues with a smile

Manage stock levels and place orders as needed

Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards

Support training and on-boarding of new team members

Assist with rotas, cash handling, and daily reporting

Previous experience in a cafe or hospitality supervisory role

Strong leadership and communication skills

A hands-on, can-do attitude and a love for great service

Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations

Job Purpose:



To oversee the daily operations of the cafe, ensuring high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, and team performance. The Cafe Supervisor supports the Cafe Manager in maintaining a welcoming environment and a smooth-running business.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise front-of-house and kitchen staff during shifts. Ensure excellent customer service and resolve any customer issues promptly. Oversee food and beverage preparation and presentation to maintain quality standards. Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor inventory rotation. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with health and safety regulations. Train and support new team members and provide ongoing coaching. Handle cash, process payments, and complete daily financial reconciliations. Open and close the cafe, ensuring all procedures are followed. Assist in planning menus, promotions, and events to boost sales.

Skills & Qualifications:



Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure. Basic food hygiene and health & safety knowledge (certification preferred). Competence in using point of sale systems and handling cash. A friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude.
