Biscuit & Brew is a family-owned cafe & lounge in the heart of Nottingham city centre. We think good service starts with a smile and that genuine smiles come with good service.

We're loose leaf tea specialists. All of our blends are our own and are inspired by anything from sweets, desserts & cocktails to books, moods or music. We bake all our own cakes. All of our food and drinks are put together by hand, fresh to order. We source our ingredients from the best local suppliers.

We like tradition but we also like to be creative. There's a fine line between novelty and nostalgia - our menu makes a good effort to tread it (try Spice Girl and you'll see what we mean!).

What you'll do

As a frontline team leader you will be expected to work alongside and inspire our team, initiating and maintaining strong, genuine relationships with our customers, preparing hot & cold drinks from our extensive menu as well as foods made from fresh in our kitchen.

Although there may be some office time, this is a very active, hands-on role where you will be expected to lead by example, motivate others to flourish and consistently perform to a strict standard of excellence. Team leader specific responsibilities include running shifts, coordinating with upper management, stock checks and food orders, cashing up, opening and closing the store and most importantly, ensuring our very high standards are consistently met.

Availability

This is an all year round job. Typical shifts will fall anywhere between 8am-6pm Monday to Sunday. Our busiest time of the week is at the weekend although we still require someone who can be flexible with their time and with good availability throughout the rest of the week. Although we rarely expect our team to work double weekends we do expect as a minimum requirement that you are generally free for both days and at least one day throughout the week.

Essential Skills

Some experience with managing and motivating a team Relevant experience in hospitality - either preparing food, front of house service or making drinks.

Bonus Skills

Baking experience Barista experience Food Safety Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate
