Job Description

We are a well-established, multi-location business specialising in the calibration, service, and repair of electrical test instruments. We are excited to offer an apprenticeship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our expanding Calibration Department at our Glasgow office.

About the Role



The Calibration Apprentice position is primarily office-based, with the possibility of attending an education centre one day a week. This apprenticeship includes:

A formal qualification in metrology principles/electrical engineering through day-release study. Hands-on workplace training in calibration principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities



Calibrating electrical, mechanical, and gas instrumentation to accredited certification standards. Following and updating processes and procedures. Designing procedures and utilising Windows-based applications and laboratory automation software. Collaborating within a customer-focused service environment.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications



For candidates educated in Scotland, we recommend the following National 5 qualifications:

Mathematics

- Crucial for calibration calculations, measurement, and data analysis.

English

- Important for documentation, communication, and report writing.

Physics

or

Combined Science

- Provides grounding in electrical and mechanical principles.

Engineering Science

or

Design & Manufacture

- Useful for understanding systems, tools, and practical problem-solving.

Computing Science

- Beneficial for working with software and digital systems.

Suggested Results



Grade A to C

at

National 5

level in: Mathematics English Physics or Combined Science
These qualifications support entry into a Modern Apprenticeship.

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: From 7.55 per hour

Expected hours: 38.75 per week
