Milfeddygon ProStock Vets is an independently owned, dedicated farm animal veterinary practice. Started in 2011, we are a well-established and growing practice, with branches in Carmarthen, Llangadog, Eglwyswrw, Lampeter, and Whitland.
We are looking to recruit a full-time Call Handler/Operations Planning Coordinator to be the first point of contact for our clients on the telephone. As a member of the practice support team, you will be based at our Carmarthen branch.
As a Call handler/Operations Planning Coordinator you will be required to plan and coordinate all client calls, scheduling in routine appointments as well as dealing with emergency calls that need urgent attention by the veterinary team. You will work closing with the veterinary team ensuring calls are allocated to the right member of the team, taking into account the type of call, location and the anticipated length of call. This will include regular communication during the day to ensure that they are updated on any changes.
You would also be required to complete administrative tasks as part of the wider support team who provide a wide variety of services, working with our farmer clients and veterinary team.
Other tasks may include reception duties, dispensing medicines, back-office duties. There may also be a need for occasional on farm administrative support.
Exact working hours will be confirmed each week as part of the rota, and will vary between either 8-4 or 9-5 each day.
The ability to fit into a Saturday morning work rota 08.30-12pm, this will be approximately 1 in 5 weeks. In addition, you may on occasions work from our other branches.
Skills required include
Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills
Experience of telephone call handling
Ability to prioritise and multitask
Ability to work using own initiative to seek the best solution for our clients
Experience of working as part of a team, supporting other team members where needed.
Attention to detail
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software and computer literate is essential
Welsh speaking an advantage although not necessary
Good geographical knowledge of West Wales advantageous
Driving Licence
Ideally you will have previous experience of call handling and appointment scheduling.
While a farming background or an understanding of veterinary services would be beneficial, we will provide comprehensive training and support to help the right candidate succeed in the role.
