Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-driven

CNC Operator

to join our busy, forward-thinking team at our brand-new SmartFab Centre - a core part of our mission to deliver the lowest carbon walkways in the world.

This is a practical, varied role where you'll be involved in everything from CAM programming and CNC machine setup to interpreting complex CAD drawings, optimising toolpaths for efficiency, and ensuring exceptional machining accuracy. You'll collaborate closely with our Operational teams to support high-quality output across a range of materials and components.

Whether it's contributing to LEAN manufacturing improvements, enhancing workflow efficiency, or supporting across departments including R&D, fabrication, distribution, and inventory - your role will be central to our day-to-day operations.

We operate across four integrated UK sites - Head Office, Operations Centre, Design & R&D Innovation Centre, and SmartFab - all working together to strive for operational excellence and sustainability across everything we do.

The ideal candidate is technically confident, collaborative, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to be comfortable around machinery, have a strong eye for detail, and take pride in doing things properly. A background in manufacturing and a commitment to quality and safety are essential.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



CAM Programming Responsibilities Develop efficient toolpaths to maximise machine performance while minimising cycle times and material waste Ensure programs align with technical drawings and design specifications. Read and understand engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation. Participate in LEAN manufacturing initiatives and SMED analyses to enhance productivity. CNC Operation Responsibilities Assist in CNC machinery setup and ensure all areas are safe and ready to use. Operate CNC machines to complete cuts, grinds, or drilling of materials. Work with cut programs, CAD, and SolidWorks drawings to ensure accurate machining. Take photos of completed jobs and follow quality control processes. General Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets. Maintain accurate stock records and participate in inventory counts. Undertake all training deemed necessary for the proper performance of the role.

Safety, Health & Environment (S.H.E)



Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety requirements, including wearing appropriate PPE. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns. Follow site risk assessments and suggest improvements. Report any accidents or damages to the CAM-CNC Manage

Housekeeping & Equipment Maintenance



Maintain cleanliness of workstations and shared spaces. Perform regular inspections and cleaning of equipment. Dispose of waste appropriately and contribute to a tidy workplace.

What's on offer?



Basic Salary

:

24,000 - 27,000

per annum, based on experience.

NPGSBS:

Potential to earn 10% of Basic salary as part of the company Net Profit Gain Share Bonus System (NPGSBS)

Total Package: 26,400 - 29,700



Holidays

: Pro rata of 20 days per year plus 8 Bank Holidays - (5 days to be taken at Christmas).

Loyalty Holiday accrued from Year 2, with 1 additional day awarded in Yr2, Yr4, Yr6, Yr8, Yr10 - up to a max of 5 additional long service holiday days). Option to purchase 5 additional days per year.
