Job Description

Due to recent investment into Mental Health services, we are launching a number of new developments across both our core CAMHS and our specialist CAMHS provision.



We are thrilled that the development of our core CAMHS provision means that we can offer a new opportunity for a Specialist Mental Health Nurse to join our CAMHS Team to support the needs of our children and young people.



We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. Our team includes as mix of Psychiatrists, Nursing, Social work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and support staff.



Deliver, as part of wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) high quality, timely and comprehensive mental health service for children and young people (CYP) with a range of complex mental health needs. To focus on evidence-based bio-psychosocial assessment and nursing specialist interventions, working towards evidence-based recovery. Ensuring the nursing profession is represented within the Multi-disciplinary approach to care. To provide the co-ordination and collaboration in meeting the needs for a defined caseload working directly with CYP, their families/carers and external agencies .

To provide specialist assessments of children and young people, based upon the appropriate use, interpretation & integration of complex data from a variety of sources.

To be responsible for implementing a range of clinical interventions for children and their families, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining formulations drawing upon different explanatory models.

To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options based on theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.

To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and families.

To provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.

To contribute directly and indirectly to improving the understanding of child and adolescent mental health.



The post holder:



Will take a lead role in the development of clinical services for young people accessing CAMHS services, including those identified as requiring additional consultation.

would be an essential nursing member of the MDT and will be able to facilitate the co-ordination of care on a multi-disciplinary basis
