Role Overview

We are seeking a highly creative, strategic, and politically engaged Campaign Manager to lead the development and execution of campaign content. This role blends creative direction, message discipline, production oversight, and client management.

You will guide a production team in creating strong ideas, ensure the outputs stay on brand and on message, and maintain overall quality control across every piece of content. You should thrive under pressure, enjoy the fast pace of political communications, and be as comfortable advising clients as you are reviewing videos or shaping a narrative.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development & Ideation

Generate original video ideas that align with campaign strategy, audience insights, and political context. Nurture and elevate the creative ideas of videographers, editors, and the wider team. Facilitate brainstorming sessions, shape storyboards, and refine narrative approaches. Quickly evaluate what ideas will work best on specific platforms or for specific audiences.

Message & Brand Governance

Ensure all content strictly adheres to campaign messaging, tone, and brand guidelines. Work with political strategists, communications staff, and clients to confirm message accuracy and strategic alignment. Provide clarity and direction to the production team when messaging adjustments are needed. Review scripts, shot lists, edits, and final outputs for consistency and impact.

Quality Control & Output Oversight

Maintain a high creative and technical standard across all video content. Perform final reviews before videos are released, flagging improvements and ensuring high quality output. Implement workable quality control processes that keep the team adaptable and accountable. Guide editors on pacing, hooks, structure, colour, captions, and overall storytelling.

Production Leadership

Work closely with the Production Manager and Production Team to shape feasible production decisions. Understand production workflows and make informed decisions about timelines, shot lists, and resource allocation. Support shoots when needed by providing creative direction or client-facing leadership. Balance creative ambition with time, budget, and logistics.

Client Communication & Relationship Management

Serve as a point of contact for clients. Present ideas, drafts, and final outputs clearly and confidently. Manage expectations, gather feedback, and turn client insights into actionable internal direction. Build strong relationships by being reliable, responsive, and strategically insightful.

Measuring Performance & Success

Interpret analytics, engagement metrics, and audience insights to understand what's working. Provide regular reporting to clients and internal leadership on the effectiveness of content. Adjust creative strategy based on performance data, platform trends, and evolving campaign goals. Identify what works well in high performing content and create actionable changes for underperforming content.

Political Awareness & Campaign Readiness

Stay informed about political developments, news cycles, and online discourse. Anticipate moments where content could make a strategic impact. Maintain enthusiasm for the pace, unpredictability, and urgency of election periods. Work flexible hours during peak campaigns - responding in real time to events.

Skills & Experience

Required

Proven experience in political campaigns, strategic communications, or content-led advocacy. Strong ability to generate and refine compelling video concepts. Excellent editorial judgment and message discipline. Understanding of production processes, from pre-production through post. Confident managing clients, stakeholders, or political principals. Experience leading creative teams and providing clear, actionable feedback. Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong understanding of social media content formats, hooks, pacing, and platform trends.

Bonus / Nice to Have

Hands-on production or editing experience. Experience working with political candidates, parties, NGOs, or advocacy groups. Familiarity with visual branding systems and campaign design principles. On-set experience directing talent or overseeing shoots.

Ideal Candidate

You are a politically savvy creative leader who thrives in high-pressure, fast-turnaround environments. You love shaping ideas, improving messaging, and pushing your team to do their best work. You're confident with clients, decisive in production decisions, and passionate about crafting content that cuts through. Above all, you bring energy, clarity, and strategic thinking to every stage of the campaign.
