Campaigns And Marketing Officer

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Full Time, Fixed Term until 31 March 2027. Role available immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced campaigns, marketing, and communications professional to join Bristol City Council's innovative Policy, Strategy and Communications team.

Every day will bring new and exciting challenges. You will be helping develop and deliver an engaging and creative programme of activity through a broad spectrum of communications disciplines including marketing, behaviour change campaigns, media relations, and social media, all while supporting the team to build relationships with senior internal clients and external partners.

We always aim to improve how we do things and in your role you will be contributing to continually improving our campaigns and looking for new, effective marketing and communications solutions to support our priorities while evaluating the effectiveness of our work.

You will play a key role in telling our city's story, using your communications and marketing expertise to inform and engage the people of Bristol.

Everything we do is designed to help improve the lives of Bristol's residents. Some of our flagship campaigns include the recruitment of much-needed social workers, offering information, advice and help to all families in Bristol through our Family Hubs, driving behaviour change to improve public health or to reduce our carbon footprint, and updating residents about investment in fire and building safety features for some of our council housing blocks.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to produce content for online and offline audiences, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

You'll also be well-organised and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will be able to coordinate the creation of communications and marketing content, advise senior colleagues on communications approaches, and manage relationships with partners both inside and outside the council. Underpinning your skills will be a degree or relevant equivalent industry or vocational qualification, and/or significant experience of working in a marketing or communications role.

Working within a fast-paced, supportive, collaborative environment, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their next steps in a career in marketing and campaigns.
