Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a MDT Cancer Service Coordinator based at the Princess of Wales Hospital.



The successful candidate will be proactively assist with managing patients through their urgent Cancer pathway. The post holder will work with a variety of staff and departments to ensure appointments, diagnostics and treatment are booked, reported and available in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient, service and national targets.



We require a hardworking, motivated individual who has excellent communication skills who is IT literate with a good knowledge and understanding of computer packages. Great organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise their work accordingly is paramount. You must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and an understanding of patient confidentiality and sensitivity is a must.



The job role is varied and requires individuals who can adapt well, meet deadlines and be able to work in a fast paced environment.



The post holder will be a core member of cancer site-specific multi-disciplinary team/s, providing full administrative and information support to the team/s.



The Co-ordinator will be required to collate, record and validate data for submission to national (UK wide) and/or Wales wide based audits, including Cancer Peer Review and Cancer Standards and any local audits for the multi-disciplinary team/s.



They will actively ensure that all patients are treated within National Targets set for cancer patients, proactively taking steps to identify delays and escalate to the clinical team.



Welsh Skills Desirable:

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
