About the role
To project manage planned projects to support the neighbourhood plan across the region. Ensuring the delivery of value for money and high performance including procurement, contractor management, and quality control in consultation with Operations, Customer Services teams, customers, leaseholders and other key stakeholders.
Financial Planning
Assist the Capital Project Manager with financial planning, budget setting, and budget optimisation, for your function.
Asset Management
Provide input as required to the development of the Asset Management Strategy, investment standards, investment plan, and procurement strategy.
Investment Planning
Ensure investment delivery is planned effectively to maximise efficiencies. Clearly and effectively define the scope of work and specifications for projects inputting regional, local and specialist knowledge into the process and ensure that the procurement of work provides overall value for money and conforms to procedures and procurement legislation.
Contract Management
Manage investment contracts, setting performance standards, minimising risk, monitoring progress, resolving issues, providing onsite quality control, payment valuations and financial management of the project, reporting as appropriate.
Leadership
Provide project leadership developing a performance culture and ensuring that your delivery teams are suitably qualified and skilled to deliver. Act as key point of contact for specific projects, leading customer engagement for the project and liaising with all stakeholders.
Health and Safety
Overall health and safety responsibility for the project ensuring compliance with legislative requirements including CDM.
Skills, knowledge and experience
Essential:
Demonstrable track record of managing investment programmes to a high level of performance.
Demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and leasehold legislation.
Knowledge of construction contracts and their effective administration.
Commercial understanding of value for money drivers in construction.
Knowledge of performance and budget management.
Experience of performing the role of 'principal designer' and knowledge of the requirements of CDM.
Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of managing contractors to meet defined objectives or targets.
Desirable:
Previous experience of managing similar projects.
Project Management qualification.
Commercial management experience knowledge.
