Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK!

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Capital Works Project Manager to join the team on a 12 month fixed term, to lead the delivery of infrastructure renewal and enhancement projects across the Metrolink network. Our Capital Works Project Managers play a critical role in delivering a wide range of capital works, supporting TfGM to deliver strategic system upgrades and manage 3rd party developers in an asset protection role.


Our capital works pipeline encompasses a diverse range of projects including lift renewals and on-stop upgrades, track and overhead line renewals, digital system upgrades and civil infrastructure enhancements. Additionally, we deliver rolling stock upgrade projects to enhance tram reliability, enhance the customer experience and make our iconic fleet of trams fit for the future.


You will play a pivotal role in managing the full project lifecycle--from concept and design through to construction and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key accountabilities will include:

Lead on the full cycle of key KAM-led projects, project change, and the full interface management of the Metrolink Capital Works Programme Ensure full compliance with the KAM Project Management System (PMS), including completion of all necessary progress and projects documentation Take ownership of cost tracking and budget management of allocated projects Engage with key Internal and external stakeholders providing appropriate documentation and reporting for the effective management of assigned projects Work with the HSQE team to Identify, document and manage project related risks Deliver outcomes that promotes a customer centric approach to ways of working Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards Ensure own health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring the zero harm principles and just culture is demonstrated in all ways of working

What you'll bring:

Hold a relevant qualification in engineering, construction, transport or project management or demonstrable relevant project management experience in a technical environment Have undertaken formal Project Management training (ideally holding recognised PM certification, e.g., APM, PRINCE2, etc.). Previous Project Management experience (within the heavy or light rail industry desirable) Hold a full UK driving licence Competently produce formal projects documentation Strong communication, and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships and influencing others Effective decision maker able to demonstrate an analytical approach to achieving goals Excellent problem solver and ability to work well under pressure Strong presentation and report writing skills Strong organisational and time management skills Passionate about Health and safety, innovation and overcoming barriers and driving change Strong relationship building & stakeholder engagement skills Flexible approach, you can adapt to your situation to get the best results Results focused with a passion for delivering projects on time and working as part of an awesome team

What we will offer you:

A salary of 63,000 - 70,000 (depending on experience) Full time on a 12 month fixed term contract
