We are seeking a skilled Car/ LGV Garage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. This role involves carrying out a range of repairs on all makes and models from things as minor as services and brakes to Timing Belt changes, Clutch Replacements and the ability to diagnose vehicle faults with diagnostic equipment responsibilities
To perform all work assigned in a timely manner, economically and to Company and Manufacturer's standards.
To advise Manager if additional work is required on a vehicle and seek their assistance and authority in the rectification of faults
To maintain a high level of competence for the work to be undertaken by undergoing on-site training, attending courses at suppliers and manufacturer's and reading technical bulletins as required.
To discuss with customers, problems with the vehicle as requested.
To ensure the Company image of professionalism and quality of service is maintained when dealing with customers.
Routine maintenance Performing regular services like oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustment
Fault diagnosis Identifying and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge
Repairs repairing or replacing faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
MOT preparation, preparing vehicles for MOT tests and ensuring compliance with regulations
To operate equipment and carry out all duties in a safe manner.
To maintain equipment, protective clothing and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
To assist management with the introduction of new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.
Safety and Compliance adhering to health and safety regulations and working practices
To carry out any other duties as required.
