Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specialising in the Operating Room to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures within a fast-paced hospital environment. Duties



Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, ensuring consent is obtained, and assessing their physical and emotional needs. Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during operative procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and available. Monitor patient vital signs throughout surgery, responding promptly to any changes or complications. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards within the operating theatre. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in accordance with hospital policies and legal requirements. Support post-operative recovery by monitoring patients, managing pain relief, and providing education on post-surgical care instructions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre staff to ensure seamless surgical processes. Ensure all equipment is correctly sterilised, maintained, and prepared for use in each procedure.

Qualifications



Registered Nurse qualification recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Proven experience working in an operating theatre or surgical environment is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Effective communication skills to liaise with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Organised with meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards. Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by hospital scheduling needs. Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 35.00-40.00 per hour
